Spanish technical translations — Rates
I generally charge per source word for translations and reviewing.
Translation rates* start from €0.08/word for English>Spanish (GBP 0.07, USD 0.09, CAD 0.11) and €0.10/word for German>Spanish (GBP 0.09, USD 0.11, CAD 0.13), and depend on different factors such as:
- difficulty of the source text
- degree of specialized terminology
- initial file format (documents with charts or images, in HTML, XML, etc.)
- availability of reference material
*Taxes (if any) are not included. These are non-binding prices which can vary depending on the above mentioned characteristics of each project. The binding price will be communicated in the form of a quote. A minimum charge is applicable for very small projects.

Payments by wire transfer or PayPal within 30 days of invoice date. Checks will under no circumstances be accepted as a form of payment. A small surcharge applies on PayPal payments.
To balance risk management between translator and client an initial up-front payment may be requested (30% of the total amount) for new clients with large translation projects.
Any changes made by the client to parts of the source text already translated will be charged additionally.
Discounts are available for full payment before delivery of the whole translation and for large projects. Any such discounts will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
